flowers & butterflies

this morning i woke up this morning to a winter wonderland. i didn't even know we we're supposed to get any, it was great! this weekend was so much fun, i love not having friday classes because that means a three day weekend! I've decided that I'll use today to do some laundry, catch up on reading and homework, and hang out with hot chocolate and watch the snow fall :)
Anyways, explanation for the picture: these are currently my two favorite things on my desk. the dried flowers i got from matt a few months ago and below them is my journal which has a quote that i love on the cover; "just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly." before i end this i just wanted to say HI MEL! i'm not really sure why you can't email me (so frustrating!) but I love that you're reading this now and I can keep you updated through here :) I hope everyone is enjoying their lazy sunday like I am.

curiosity never killed the dog....

started classes this week. i'm taking germs, family relations, psychobiology, and animal cognition. the latter two will be my hardest but hopefully cutting back hours at work will keep stress levels at a minimum. im going to miss this dog. she's comic relief like nothing else.

back to school

i'm finally back at school and it's so refreshing. it's like i can breathe again. the packing part wasn't fun though. aside from the obvious annoying tasks like laundry and shoving all of my stuff into my tiny toyota, i had a very sad puppy following me everywhere. rosalita, or rosie for short, is my golden retriever who knows very well what a suitcase means. as i sat on my bed today taking in my chaotic room and deciding what to pack first she came over and put her head right on my knee, and gave me those sad "why are you leaving?" puppy dog eyes. now, as im sitting in my dorm nursing my flu from hell while everyone else is out celebrating the last night of freedom before classes begin, i'm looking back at this picture with similar eyes.

old & new

i wrote, deleted, re-wrote, deleted. i've got nothing. explanation for the picture: went to NYC last weekend and decided to visit ground zero. When I arrived I found out it was under construction, as they are building the new "Freedom Tower" and with that entails the regular construction restrictions, such as covering all of the fenced off viewing areas with protective tarps. I managed to find a little uncovered hole as did many other people so I only had time for a quick shot. In the corners you can see the outlines of the fence and the tarp, and below begins the Freedom Tower.

intro

so here's the deal with my blog. i doubt anyone will read it, but i'll explain anyways. i read a few blogs everyday and kind of accidentally created my own. i have a secret love for photography but never took any classes on it, so i'm going to try and take more pictures and post what I've got on here. living in new hampshire makes it easy to capture beauty.  more later, i guess.
